The 6th Public Transport-oriented TOD Comprehensive Development and International Experience Reference Summit Forum was successfully held in Xi'an from August 10th to August 11th, 2019! The forum invited nearly 30 professional guests to share their development and design with their wonderful TOD projects, and to see the direction of TOD model in China.

论坛背景:
截止2018年底中国城市轨道交通运营里程达5093.48公里,据中国轨道交通网初步统计显示,截止2018年年底,中国城市轨道交通运营线路共有154条,车站3222座,总里程高达5093.48公里。在建线路共198条,车站3396座,在建里程5459.224公里。2018年新增开工线路28条,车站395座,里程608.45公里。新增运营线路25条,车站337座,里程603.93公里。中国城市轨道交通建设方兴未艾,而大城市土地日益稀缺及轨道交通的便利性,已引得业界将目光聚焦在轨交场站上盖的综合开发,即以公共交通为导向的发展模式——TOD(transit-oriented development)。以公共交通为导向的城市发展模式(TOD)自1993年由美国学者考尔索普教授提出后,便引起全球规划学者的广泛关注。这是在规划一个居民区或商业区时,将轨道交通的使用最大化的一种规划设计方式。上世纪90年代初,由公共交通导向的土地使用开发策略开始在一些发达国家和地区得到推广应用。如今,已被视为缓解交通拥挤、城市无序蔓延、降低城市能源消耗、促进城市可持续发展的规划理念。美国、日本和中国香港已发展得较为完善。在中国,TOD模式也颇受追捧。近年也在深圳、广州、重庆、成都等地陆续推广。本次论坛特邀近30位的领导和嘉宾,透过他们精彩的TOD项目综合开发和设计分享,一窥TOD模式在中国的实践方向和路径。

Forum Background:
By the end of 2018, China's urban rail transit mileage reached 5,093.48 kilometers. According to preliminary statistics from China Rail Transit Network, by the end of 2018, there were 154 urban rail transit lines and 3,322 stations with a total mileage of 5,093.48 kilometers. There are 198 lines under construction and 3,396 stations, with a mileage of 5,594.224 kilometers. In 2018, there were 28 new construction lines and 395 stations with a mileage of 608.45 kilometers. There are 25 new operating lines and 337 stations with a mileage of 603.93 kilometers. China's urban rail transit construction is in the ascendant, and the increasing scarcity of land in large cities and the convenience of rail transit have led the industry to focus on the comprehensive development of the rail transit station, namely the public transport-oriented development model - TOD (Transit-oriented development). The public transport-oriented urban development model (TOD) has attracted widespread attention from global planning scholars since it was proposed by American scholar Professor Calthorpe in 1993. This is a planning and design approach that maximizes the use of rail transit when planning a residential or commercial area. In the early 1990s, land use development strategies led by public transportation began to be promoted and applied in some developed countries and regions. Today, it has been regarded as a planning concept to alleviate traffic congestion, urban sprawl, reduce urban energy consumption, and promote sustainable urban development. The United States, Japan and Hong Kong have developed relatively well. In China, the TOD model is also highly sought after. In recent years, it has been promoted in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu and other places.
